Human rights champion and activist Advocate Shri GirishBhai Patel is no more. He breathed his last in Ahmedabad. He was 85. Civil society has lost human rights advocate par excellence. Marginalized class and community have lost an activist, who guided them in their struggles, whether during Narmada Bachao Andolan or Sugarcane workers agitation to the trade union movement or civil liberty issues. Sources close to the Patels said that Girishbhai breathed his last at 4 am and his body has been shifted to Rajasthan Hospital in Shahibaug area of Ahmedabad. Sources added that as per Girishbhai’s wish, his body will be donated.
