The message of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' (Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child) reached Britain's shores on Sunday, June 11, when a group of over 100 Indian women, primarily of Gujarati diaspora, set on a 416km long journey from London to Leicester and back with the message. Titled 'Saree in a Gadi,' the rally was led by Bharulata Kamble, native of Navsari, who had driven 32,000 km solo from UK to India - covering Arctic circle and 32 countries - in 2016, setting a world record.
