The Ukrainian government claimed on Thursday that 28 children had died so far since Russia invaded the country on February 24. On Friday, a Ukrainian official added that 840 children had been wounded in the war. Oleksiy Danilov, head of Ukraine's national security council, announced the tally on Ukrainian television. He appealed to Russia to make way for women and children to escape the fighting, as per a report by The Associated Press.
