The state government claimed the COVID-19 situation is gradually improving with 702 more patients getting discharged from hospitals during the day, taking the total recoveries to 2,49,352. After a long time, the number of active cases dropped below the 5,000-mark on Saturday. At present, Gujarat has 4,960 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 50 patients are on ventilator. With significant recoveries in recent times, the COVID-19 recovery rate has gone up to 96.39 percent, the release said.
