The Supreme Court on Friday again reiterated that it wanted farm fires to stop in Punjab amid rising concerns over air pollution. The apex court was hearing a matter pertaining to air pollution in Delhi-NCR.
"We suggested a methodology, you do it however you want. But farm fires must be stopped. Some emergency measures are required to stop the farm fires," said the Supreme Court.
The court also observed that farmers are also a part of society and they have to be more responsible, and we have to be more responsive to their needs, adding, "But people cannot be made to die."
