Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in a press conference, said that Delhi's borders will be sealed for a week, with an exception to essential services.
"Today I am here to seek your suggestions on a very important question: should Delhi’s borders be opened?" said Mr. Kejriwal. "Coronavirus cases are rising rapidly in the city; but, as I have said earlier, it is a cause for concern but not panic," he said.
"There has been significant improvement in the health infrastructure in Delhi over the last five years. Treatment is free in Delhi hospitals. If we open the borders then people from all over the country will come here for treatment like the usually do. Some people believe that borders should be opened but it’s hospitals should be reserved for its own citizens. That it’s hospital beds should be used only by the citizens of Delhi till the coronavirus concern abates. We need your suggestions on this," he says.
