The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind presented three Padma Vibhushan, eight Padma Bhushan and 61 Padma Shri Awards for the year 2020, at the Civil Investiture Ceremony-II yesterday evening (November 8, 2021) at Rashtrapati Bhavan, in the presence of Vice-President of India, Prime Minister, Union Minister for Home Affairs and other dignitaries. Former Pro Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University and an eminent author of Gujarat Samachar Dr. Chandrakant Mehta has been awarded with Padma Shri Award for his immense contribution
in Education and Literature. The Veteran Gujarati poet and writer has over 150 books to his credit. Padma Shri is the fourth-highest civilian award of India, after the Bharat Ratna, the Padma Vibhushan and the Padma Bhushan.
