Exit poll numbers may have enthused Narendra Modi supporters across India. A number of news channels that conducted their exit polls today predicted BJP would win the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. But West Bengal chief minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee took to Twitter to say she did not "trust exit poll gossip".

"I don't trust exit poll gossip. The game plan is to manipulate or replace thousands of EVMs through this gossip. I appeal to all Opposition parties to be united, strong and bold. We will fight this battle together," Mamata Banerjee tweeted.
