Gujarat reported 11,403 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, the highest daily rise so far, which took its caseload to 4,15,972, the health department said. For the first time since the pandemic began, the one- day rise in cases crossed the 11,000-mark in the state. The death toll due to COVID-19 rose to 5,494 after 117 more persons succumbed to the infection during the same period. 4,179 patients were discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of recovered cases in the state to 3,41,724. The number of active cases crosses 68,000-mark. At present, Gujarat has 68,754 active COVID-19 cases, of which, 341 patients are on ventilator. The first dose of vaccine has been given to 89,59,960 persons and the second dose has been given to 14,79,244 persons. A total of 1,04,39,204 persons have been vaccinated so far. There has been no case of adverse reaction or side-effects of Covid-19 vaccine in the State so far. The state's recovery rate stood at 82.15 percent, it said.
