Likewise, with 25 deaths in 24 hours on Sunday sent the death toll spiralling to 2654. The number of recovered cases rose to 54,138 with 1,311 more patients getting discharged on Sunday, the health department said in a release. The state now has 14,272 active cases, with the condition of 73 patients being critical, it said.
Of these fresh cases, Ahmedabad reported 153 more positive patients in the last 24 hours, total coronavirus cases reaches 27,898. The death toll also rose by 1,634 after 3 of the new 25 deaths from the state were recorded in Ahmedabad.
Surat reported 222 cases and 25 deaths in the state in the day, it said. With this, Surat's COVID-19 coronavirus cases reaches 15,224, while the death toll mounted to 507, the health department said.
