The IPL media rights e-auction lived up to the hype of the market experts as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set for a windfall with the rights for TV and digital for broadcast in the Indian subcontinent going for Rs 44,075 crore on Monday, June 13.

The TV rights for the Indian subcontinent were sold at Rs 23.575 crore and digital rights were sold for Rs 20,500 crore for a period of 5 years from 2023 to 2027. Sony and Reliance-Viacom Joint Venture are frontrunners for TV and digital rights for the Indian subcontinent, respectively.
