US-based startup Canary Speech is using machine learning to develop a way of analysing conversations to identify a number of diseases, including Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and dementia. After examining patients' speech patterns, the startup has developed algorithms based on signs such as softening of voice and quality of speech in order to identify several neurological and cognitive diseases.
