Two army jawans were today killed after terrorists opened fire at a security forces party in HMT area of Srinagar, police officials said. The militants fired at Army’s Road Opening Party (ROP) in the area.According to a police officer, the two army troopers, who were initially injured in the gunfire, later succumbed at a hospital.“Both the soldiers were shifted to army hospital where they succumbed to the injuries,” he said.Meanwhile, the whole area has been cordoned off and a search operation in underway.The terror attack comes just two days ahead of the DDC elections in J&K and on a day when the country is observing the anniversary of the Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks.
