The Supreme Court on Thursday said the country was going through a difficult period due to violent protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act and requested all concerned to desist from aggravating the situation by further provocations.
When advocate Vineet Dhanda requested a bench of CJI S A Bobde and Justices B R Gavai and Surya Kant to list a PIL by Puneet K Dhanda seeking to declare CAA constitutional and make it mandatory for all states to implement it, the CJI said, “As it is, there is a lot of violence.
