Days after Samsung announced the Galaxy Fold, Huawei Mate X is trying to steal the thunder by presenting itself as a fold above the rest. If you thought the Galaxy Fold was expensive at $1980, the Huawei Mate X is priced close to $2600. At least on price, these phones are a fold above the rest.

The Huawei Mate X looks like a regular smartphone with a 6.6-inch screen with its rear panel folding towards the front to offer an 8-inch tablet. This is more of a regular smartphone and can be used as a regular smartphone with a panel at the rear too. The banner showcased that the phone will have screens on both the front and back sides when folded. Also, the handset appears to open up in an inverted manner to activate the screen at the back when unfolded.

On the software front, the Huawei Mate X allows you to open two apps side-by-side and move files from one app to the other (such as photos being attached to an email). The Huawei Mate X has a mirror shooting mode to let you see your picture as it is being clicked by someone else. This is possible thanks to the folding display. Huawei Mate X is available in one colour - Interstellar Blue. The company is launching a Full Protection Case that is adapted to this phone specifically. Mate X supports 5G connectivity. The Huawei Mate X has the Kirin 980 SoC and the Balong 5000 chip for enhanced 5G connectivity. Huawei Mate X is a dual-SIM smartphone with a hybrid dual-SIM slot. The primary SIM slot supports 5G while the secondary slot supports a maximum of 4G. The Huawei Mate X has a 4,500mAh battery and it supports 55W fast charging. Huawei claims that the Mate X battery can be charged 85 percent in 30 minutes.
