A report by WABetainfo, WhatsApp has doubled the limit from four to eight and people using the latest beta versions of the app on iOS and Android will be able to add more than four participants in a video call. In order to get the latest feature, a user is required to install the 2.20.50.25 iOS beta update from TestFlight for iOS users and 2.20.133 beta from Google Play for Android users. If any of the group members fail to download the latest beta versions of the app, he will fail to be a part of the group video chat. With this move, WhatsApp surely has plans to take on existing video conferencing apps that are facing a surge in usage due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
